Dr. Eugene Geist is Professor of Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Louisiana State University. Drawing on more than three decades as an educator and researcher, he studies how young children develop mathematical and scientific understanding through inquiry, play, music, and child-centered learning. He is the author of Reinventing STEM in Early Childhood Education: A Constructivist Approach and Children Are Born Mathematicians. His keynote, “Critical Issues in STEM Education for Young Children,” examines how developmentally appropriate teaching can make STEM more meaningful, accessible, and engaging.
